A long summer hallmark movie9/17/2023 ![]() What happened with the scammers? Apparently she was digging into the ” who, what and where’s” and then nothing. Now back to why THIS all supposedly happened. And let’s talk about the goat, HELLOOOOOOO, Exactly nothing… and why have them dancing to this fantastic music and only show from the waist up? Let’s see their moves. Really? Let’s snorkel, surf, something this beautiful island has to offer. Such a beautiful island and no one thought of Maybe touring the island? So Ford sails and they’re celebrating a yacht festival, soooo let’s take it out to the GORGEOUS waters, the only “swim” scene was Ford walking out of the water. What a disappointment Caribbean Summer was. Up to when Ford got to the house and saw that there was a “tanned goldilocks” in his house, YESSSSS let’s just automatically allow a complete stranger ( within 2 minutes of meeting her) to stay in my home because she said she was scammed!! I thought it was going to be a good movie. I just finished watching it, today is june 12, 2022. ![]() I purposely looked for somewhere to write my review on this HM movie. It’s a shame, because I like Heather Hemmens and would love to see her in something great!ĭid you watch this movie? Let me know what you thought! Leave a comment!Īuthor Jamie Posted on Categories Movies/TV Tags #caribbeansummer, #hallmark2022, #hallmarkmovies, #hallmarkromance, #heatherhemmens, #ser'dariusblain, #serdariusblain I would rather watch The 27-Hour Day again over this movie. I was happy to have everything work out in the end. □ Anyhow, I can honestly say that after the first 60 minutes, I tuned out a lot of the movie until the last 10 minutes. Jeff even left to go take care of some laundry. Going back to the movie…there were a few good scenes and lines, but everything after the first 30 minutes was disappointing. ![]() Sometimes you can watch too much of the same plot lines. But maybe watching The 27-Hour Day the same day as Caribbean Summer wasn’t a good idea. Honestly, it’s a far better workaholic movie. It stars Autumn Reeser as a workaholic who goes to an electronics free retreat to find some work-life balance. It also didn’t help that I had some free time this morning and watched a few Hallmark movies. So much funnier than this movie! And it has an amazing dog named Marshmallow! The woman becomes the guy’s fake girlfriend. Somewhat recently I read The Last Eligible Billionaire by Pippa Grant where a woman on vacation rents a house through a website and it turns out the guy who owned the house didn’t put the house up for rental. It’s possible this is a case of it’s me and not the movie. I mean, it was like, “Oh! You’re not suppose to be here, but I guess you can spend the night.” Because we all let complete strangers from New York stay in our houses?! I wanted a little more drama in that scene though. In the house, I saw the pictures of the goat and instantly knew where that was headed. ![]() ![]() I could see where the movie was going with Ford being all shady and Jade being a news producer. □ Unfortunately after that, we both kind of lost interest. Even Jeff gave it a few good chuckles, because men don’t giggle. I absolutely loved the first 15 – 30 minutes of this movie!! The opening scene made me laugh pretty hard. Too bad her work doesn’t stay away from her. Being the nice guy he is, Ford lets Jade stay at his house while Jade attempts to have a vacation away from work. Unfortunately for her, Ford didn’t rent out his house and there’s no other vacancies on the island. While on vacation, she unknowingly rents Ford’s house. Jade is an overworked news producer who accidentally gives someone the wrong lines during an interview and is forced to take a much needed vacation. Here’s a quick recap and my full two cents. This movie starts out so promising! I wanted to love it, but it couldn’t keep my attention. ![]()

Dead history typeface9/17/2023 ![]() This was a trial and error process of finding what worked and what felt too forced or detailed once in use. When designing the typeface, we went through lots of iterations of characters, testing them in headlines and seeing how they look as a whole. What was the most difficult part of creating the typeface?Īs this was an open typeface with custom characters, we had to make sure the typeface as a whole had the right balance between functional and playful. We explored different ways each character could come together and be formed, whether that was through UI symbols, such as the refresh symbol in the “G”, or the “L” that showed the collaboration on the island, or the “J” and “D” that showed a pixel effect. Each character was created to reflect technology or collaboration within the tech sector. We designed about 40 custom characters, including a full alphabet, alternative characters for vowels and numbers. This took around a month, from initial drawings in the studio to automating and testing out the best algorithm when in use. You created an entire bespoke typeface, Open Mind Display, for your work for The Isle of Open Minds. The typography brought a voice and intentions behind the headlines such as ‘Thinking IOT. Twists were made on characters to bring back to their ethos, such as the ‘L’ and ‘P’ to show networking and connections, while a glitch effect on letters such as the ‘H’ and ‘J’ provide a distinctly digital feel. With Digital Isle of Man, we wanted to design a typeface that is inspired by the concepts of technology or collaboration. How can typography alone showcase a brand’s ethos?īy bringing in aspects of the personality, references of the brand’s history, and what they stand for. seeing how a typeface stands without the logo and whether this reflects the place or branding system. A typeface with real character, personality, and style can help create impact and be memorable. Our work has a big focus on tone of voice and messaging to really connect with audiences. This meant creating a typeface that could make up the branding system to reflect the tech community. With Digital Isle of Man, we wanted to speak directly to tech founders to attract new businesses on the island. If the typography choice is built on strategy and ideas, I think this is effective to then evoke the brand’s personality, celebrate its history, and bring emotion from the audience. Typography can act as the glue to the different components of the branding system and bring together the meaning and voice behind the brand. ![]() ![]() ![]() What role does typography play in a branding system? I had the opportunity to speak with Mollie Kendell, Senior Designer at Lantern, to learn more about the type design process and how typography can help elevate a branding system. In addition, the design captures the island’s essence, especially the versatility of design pioneers who work within the metaverse by day, but are active and outdoors by night. Because Digital Isle of Man is centered around technology and collaboration, the typeface is designed to reflect its importance. Digital Isle of Man supports the island’s tech sector and helps to develop and implement strategies that support sustainable economic growth.īranding agency Lantern recently helped Digital Isle of Man refresh its branding system, including creating a captivating, bespoke typeface. In 2011 Dead History was one of 23 digital typefaces consisted of in the irreversible architecture and style collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. The Isle of Man is a self-governing British Crown dependency in the Irish Sea between England and Ireland. There it was finally redrawn from scratch and finished by Zuzana Licko. It went through numerous stages of assembly and disassembly before it was accredited to Emigre Fonts in early 1994. Rounded- to create something entirely brand-new and unforeseen. Started by Makela while studying in the graduate design program at Cranbrook, he began his design of Dead History by mashing together two existing digital fonts- Linotype's Centennial and Adobe's V.A.G. ![]() It personifies a new attitude in type production marked by the design of hybrid typefaces which are largely the outcome of the computer system's abilities to function as the perfect putting together tool. The past, specifically in typography, is often a motivation for contemporary designers not so for Makela, whose Dead History style indicates the end of a period of typically produced typefaces. Makela created this typeface in the period throughout which digital procedures were ending up being accepted as mainstream tools for graphic and communication designers. This typeface has two designs and was released by Emigre. Scott Makela, Dead History is a display font household. ![]()

Gold spike las vegas hotel9/17/2023 ![]() We fed on their energy and we got a couple big goals here. ![]() "This building is unbelievable and we saw it (Tuesday). "Best place to play," Knights forward William Carrier said. Las Vegas was truly in the club at that point as home to a team in one of the four major professional sports.Īnd then the fans packed T-Mobile Arena, the Knights changed how games are presented with elaborate shows before the puck drop and - most importantly - the franchise won right away. Major boxing and UFC fights, NASCAR and the National Finals Rodeo have long helped define Las Vegas sports, and under the national radar, the Triple-A team has been around 40 years and is among the top draws in minor-league baseball.īut when the Knights came along, that took Las Vegas to another level in how the city viewed itself and the outside world perceived southern Nevada. Basketball has long maintained a prominent presence because of the famous UNLV teams that became a national brand and won the NCAA Tournament in 1990 to the NBA Summer League becoming the place of business for all 30 clubs to USA Basketball making this its home training site to five conferences staging their basketball tournaments here. It's not, however, that Las Vegas was devoid of sports before the Knights came along. Now the NFL not only has scheduled its premier event for Las Vegas, the league placed its popular draft in the city last year. The NFL once even nixed a Super Bowl ad touting Las Vegas tourism. It's been an incredible journey for a city that, because of legalized sports betting, was mostly shunned by professional leagues in the past and was ruled out at one time from hosting NCAA championship events. The Super Bowl will be played at Allegiant Stadium in February, the Final Four will be there in 2028, and Formula One will plant its flag on Las Vegas Boulevard in November. Las Vegas has a long history of being a go-to city for major events, and that's especially true now. "There's no doubt there are a lot of great cities interested in having the NBA." "We don't have anything specific (on expansion) right now, but I think it makes sense over time if you're a successful organization and continue to grow," Silver said. He said talks "will begin in earnest probably next spring." LeBron James has also made noise about wanting to own an NBA franchise in Las Vegas, and Commissioner Adam Silver told "Inside the NBA" last week that expansion will be considered once a media-rights deal is reached. Major League Baseball's owners also must approve the move. Joe Lombardo's signature, which could come Thursday. The Nevada Legislature voted Wednesday to help fund a new Las Vegas stadium for the Oakland Athletics. More sports milestones could be ahead for Vegas. The Oakland Raiders defeated the Houston Oilers in an 1964 preseason American Football League game in the first pro football event in Las Vegas.Īl Davis saw "an opportunity here," his son said. It shows how much hard work and everything that goes into it, but as far as feeding off it, I don't know that that's the right term."ĭavis said his late father, Al, saw the potential in Las Vegas many years ago when he used to celebrate his July 4 birthday in the city. "When you watch a great organization win a championship, it's obviously inspiration. "It's exciting as heck," Raiders and Aces owner Mark Davis said about the state of Las Vegas sports. The Aces won the championship last year and this season are again the league's best team. ![]() Since the Knights came on board, Las Vegas has acquired an NFL team in the Raiders and the WNBA's Stars moved from San Antonio and became the Aces. Owner Bill Foley issued his famous "playoffs in three, cup in six" proclamation and Vegas made the Stanley Cup Final in its first season and won it all this year - its sixth season. The modern era for Las Vegas sports began when the NHL awarded the city an expansion franchise in 2016, and the Knights began playing in the 2017-18 season. "Not only is Vegas a hockey town, it's a championship town." "What has happened here has been simply incredible," Bettman told the crowd. He first presented the Conn Smythe Trophy for playoff MVP to Jonathan Marchessault and then moments later handed the Stanley Cup to captain Mark Stone, who shared it with the rest of the team. LAS VEGAS - Massive cheers rather than the usual boos rained down on Gary Bettman on Tuesday night because nothing could keep Vegas Golden Knights fans from enjoying what the NHL commissioner was about to do. ![]()

![]() Each of these headers contains a bit known as the "reset" flag. Here we will look for all traffic using port 80 (HTTP). Because port numbers can be reassigned and used in various places (within obvious limitations), it is useful to be able to just look at traffic going into and out of a specific port. Looking to see why you can't find any websites? Try setting it to ' dns' and see what is going on. Looking to track some odd FTP traffic? set it for ' ftp'. You do not always need to know every single packet traveling across, so being able to narrow down to the exact protocol you need is helpful. And yes, you need both of the ampersands. The '&' will return both conditions in the statement, and not one or the other as is sometimes thought. Sometimes you only need specific data, so there is no need to bother sifting through the others.Īlso of note with the '&' operator-those of you who are familiar with programming will know this-but it could be repeated. This is useful to watch communication between two specific hosts or networks. Sets a conversation filter between the two IP addresses. A good example would be some odd happenings in your server logs, now you want to check outgoing traffic and see if it matches. This is useful if you want to look for specific machines or networks. Sets a filter for any packet with x.x.x.x, as either the source or destination IP address. The auto complete guesses are also there to help you put together new combos of filtering. This works on a live capture, as well as in files of dates you might be importing.Īlso, as you type, notice the color of the text field changes from red to green, signaling when you have a valid filter. You can type filter syntax right into this field and watch in wonder as your once jumbled pile of messages transforms into a neat clean stack ordered how you tell it. The most visible and easy to use spot is right in front of you! You can compare values in packets, search for strings, hide protocols you don't need, and so much more. Thankfully, Wireshark includes a rich yet simple filter language that allows you to build quite complex expressions. Moving into larger wireless networks, the sheer amount of broadcast traffic alone will slow you down and get in your way. Working from this mess would be a headache! Servers are broadcasting, computers are asking for webpages, and on top of this, the colors are difficult to digest with confusing number sequences to boot. When you first fire up Wireshark, it can be daunting. I am simply using filters to manage the view. All examples below are from a 10 minute period of packet capture on my lab network. Sometimes, the hardest part about setting a filter in Wireshark is remembering the syntax, so below are the top display filters that I use. You can filter on just about any field of any protocol, even down to the hex values in a data stream. The filtering capabilities here are very comprehensive. Hawaii telescope sites ufo9/17/2023 ![]() ![]() The Pentagon has declined to provide any public updates on the process. Deputy Secretary of Defense Kathleen Hicks ordered up a plan and potential overhaul of the UAP Task Force headed by Navy Secretary Carlos Del Toro. It's not visionary, it's not swamp gas, and so where do we go from here?"įor the Pentagon, it means reorganizing to better collect and analyze UAP data. "I have certainly never seen anything like this before," Salas said of the report. The veterans gathered at the press conference Tuesday pointed to the ODNI report as a potential breakthrough in their own unacknowledged accounts. The initial assessment from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence was inconclusive, saying not enough data exists to determine the nature of UAPs but that they may present a national security risk. Congress ordered a report in June on what was known about UAPs. The disclosures caused alarm on Capitol Hill, where some lawmakers worried China or Russia had leapfrogged U.S. The encounters by naval aviators, first revealed in 2017, were followed by official acknowledgment from the Navy. ![]() Meanwhile, the UAP cockpit footage from Navy encounters in the Pacific in 2004 and Atlantic in 2015 appear to back up eyewitness accounts from pilots who reported a craft that looked like a giant white "Tic Tac" flying without wings or propulsion systems, and a flying cube inside a clear sphere that passed between two fighter jets. Jacobs, who once shopped around the story and eventually sold it to the National Enquirer tabloid, said the film footage was cut and taken at the time by two men in gray suits, and his commander ordered him not to talk about it. After circling, it "then flew out the frame the same way it had come in." "It went around the top of the warhead, fired a beam of light down on the top of the warhead," Jacobs said Tuesday. He claims the video showed a disc-shaped craft flew up to the dummy warhead as it traveled about 8,000 mph over the Pacific Ocean, circled it and shot it with several beams of light. Robert Jacobs, who attended the UFO press conference via video link from Missouri, said he was a first lieutenant in the Air Force and stationed at Vandenberg Air Force Base, California, in 1964 when he was asked to set up a telescope video camera to capture an Atlas rocket test. As he woke his commander, he claims alarms went off showing nearly all 10 missiles shown in the control room had been disabled. "He said there was a large glowing, pulsating red oval-shaped object hovering over the front gate," according to Salas' affidavit. The site's flight security controller called from above ground and was panicked and shouting, Salas claims. Salas, who was a first lieutenant stationed at Malmstrom Air Force Base, Montana, in 1967, said he was on duty as a deputy missile combat crew commander deep in the underground nuclear missile control room. ![]() Schindele said he and his commander visited a missile launch site near Minot in September 1966, and eight airmen there told him that 10 missiles at silos in the vicinity all went down with guidance and control malfunctions when an 80- to 100-foot wide flying object with bright flashing lights had hovered over the site. "Never had we seen a situation like this," Schindele explained. He claims the evidence shows UFOs appeared at various times and took 20 Minuteman ICBMs off-line at sites in the central U.S. Salas has spent years gathering other Air Force veterans who have signed witness affidavits describing their own alleged encounters decades ago. The UFOs they claim appeared in the 1960s have been eclipsed by the more recent accounts of Navy witnesses and fighter jet footage of what the Pentagon now calls unexplained aerial phenomenon, or UAP. The Air Force funded a university study commonly known as the Condon Report in the 1960s, which found no evidence to support the claims - and recommended against further studies.īut it is a different Capitol for Salas and his fellow true-believer veterans in 2021. Through the years, the government remained indifferent at best to decades-old reports of saucer craft toying with the world's most powerful weapons during the Cold War. ![]() Read Next: 16 Service Members Sue to Halt DoD's Vaccine Order ![]() |
